  • Bubonic Plague - Yersinia pestis is a species of bacteria that causes plague. Plague, also known as the Black Death, is the legendary infection that spread throughout Europe during the 14th through 18th centuries, killing about one-fourth of the population.

  • Tularemia - Francisella tularensis is considered a possibly likely agent used as a biological weapon by terrorists or bioterrorists.  see CDC for more

  • Lyme Disease - Lyme disease is an infection caused by bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi. These bacteria are transmitted through the bites of ticks, primarily the deer tick (Ixodes scapularis).
